Weingut Buchmayer

 Weinviertel - Neiderösterreich - Austria

Weingut Buchmayer, located in Pillersdorf, Neiderösterreich, has been making wine since 1767, specializing in Grüner Veltliner and Blau Zweigelt, the time-honored Austrian grapes.

Now run by husband and wife team Thomas and Maria Buchmayer, the 20ha estate successfully captures the fruit-forward qualities of the grapes they harvest in the typical “Weinviertler” style and with organic accreditation.

“Living soils and biodiversity form the foundation for our wines”.

This is the Weingut Buchmayer motto which, in symbiosis with organic cultivation in the vineyards, makes it possible to grow grapes with character and finesse.

Built on the experience of generations, Weingut Buchmayer is a family business, and they supplement this tradition with the most modern insights of natural science producing organic wines of exceptional quality.

In their winery, they work according to organic and biodynamic guidelines, and from autumn 2019, all their natural wines will receive the Demeter certificate.

The estate also cultivates Sauvignon Blanc and, due to the region’s favourable microclimate, Blauburgunder, also growing Riesling, Gelber Traminer and Gelber Muskateller and a little Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
