Torre Fornello

Ziano Piacentino (PC) - Emilia Romagna - Italy

Torre Fornello is a recent development from Emilia Romagna with ancient roots and a long history.

With attention to experimentation and innovation, Torre Fornello focuses on local wines with a touch of internationality.

In 1998, Enrico Sgorbati started the renovation of the 15th-century medieval “borgo”, and added a modern cellar equipped with the best modern technology for refining and ageing the wines in barrels located in the XVII century cellar.

Only grapes harvested from our own vineyards are vinified in Torre Fornello, the same vineyards already cultivated in 1600 to produce grapes.

The estate covers 60 hectares of vineyards. The main local grapes cultivated are Barbera, Bonarda, Malvasia Aromatica di Candia and Ortrugo. Also planted are international grapes such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Syrah are also cultivated.

Every year 450.000 D.O.C. white and red wines are produced in the cellar, designated for high-quality restaurants and bars.

Torre Fornello wines are cited in the main wine guides with excellent notes.
