Prato al Pozzo is in Cinigiano, in the higher part of Maremma Toscana on the foothills of Mount Amiata on a hill to the north of Montalcino in the heart of the Montecucco denomination.
Since 2003 it has been the property of Francesca Quiriconi, and since that time, she started her quest to realise her life’s dream, to live immersed in nature and create a winery for the production of red wines of quality.
The company owns about 11 hectares, of which 1.5 are planted with vines and the rest with olive groves and grain.
The vineyards have a southerly disposition and an altitude of 250m a.s.l. The soil is clay and calcareous with a favourable microclimate that is positively influenced by good exposition and ventilation.
