Cantina del Glicine​
Neive (CN) - Piemonte - Italy
Glicine, Marcorino, and Curra, are names reminiscent of this small winery that took roots in 1980.
Adriana and Roberto were both from Milan. She worked in administration and he in teaching; however, both had a great passion for agriculture and oenology.
Their weekends were spent in Neive at the family home of Roberto helping out with the cultivation of their vineyards: Marcorino and Curra'.
They began producing for the enjoyment in small quantities with both success and disappointment. Slowly the past time grew into business facilitated by the existing unique 17th century cellar, a great example of Piedmontese Baroque kept in perfect condition.
This cellar is built 8 metres underground, completely surrounded by volcanic tuff.
The silence, the darkness, the moistness and the coolness are ideal for the storage and ageing wines.
In 1980 Adriana and Roberto left Milan permanently for Neive, thus official inaugurating the Cantina del Glicine, choosing the name "del Glicine" as a tribute to a century-old wisteria located in the garden.
